Ms. Waranya Natalie Chari-apaporn BAS Class of 2012 BA (First Class Honours) M.Ed. in Language and Literacy Education at the University of British Columbia Recipient of the International Tuition Award from the University of British Columbia Studying at BAS, I believe, was the best decision I could have made for myself. The wonderful professors I’ve had, interesting academic content learned, and the friends that I have made over the four years in BAS are proofs of that. I have graduated with First Class Honours and am pursuing higher education in one of the top universities in the world. What is the secret to my success? I would say the positive support I have received from my professors over the years. Poet Robert Frost once said, “There are two kinds of teachers: the kind that fill you with so much quail shot that you can’t move, and the kind that just gives you a little prod behind and you jump to the skies.” Whether it’s a simple question about the lecture or reading, my professors are always willing to clarify their lectures or aid me with any difficulties I might have in independent readings. Furthermore, my professors have always pushed me to my fullest potential; they have always believed in me and my abilities. I will always be grateful to them for that.
