Round 1 Portfolio

Applicant Qualifications

  1. Applicants must have completed or be presently enrolled in their final year of secondary school, the equivalent of Mathayom 6 or its equivalent high school level.
  2. Applicants must have studied abroad for at least 6 months or have received a prize at a national or international level. The competition must have been related to English language or general knowledge about Britain and America.
  3. Applicants must have successfully completed at least 4 semesters of secondary school with a minimum GPA of 3.00 (or equivalent results such as GCE, GCSE, IGCSE, IB or GED).
    • 3.1. GCSE/IGCSE or GCE “O” level results must not be lower than “B” in 5 different subjects.
      • GCE “AS” results must not be lower than “B” in 3 different subjects; or
      • GCE “A” level results must not be lower than “B” in 3 different subjects.
      • GCE “AS” can be combined with GCE “A” level results and must not be lower than “B” in 3 different subjects. “AS” and “A” level cannot be the same subjects.

Note: Thai Language will not be accepted as one of the required subjects whether at “O” level, “AS” or “A” level.

  • 3.2. GED
    • Old GED results must be at least 3,000 points, combining all 5 different subjects taken, and the score for each subject must be more than 550.
    • New GED results must be at least 640 points, combining all 4 different subjects taken, and the score for each subject must be more than 160.
  • 3.3. New Zealand results must be equivalent to an average of 2.75 according to the calculation of NZQA. 
  • 3.4. IB exam results must not be lower than “4” in 5 different subjects.
  • 3.5. Applicants whose school has not calculated GPAX must submit a transcript and/or other documents stating that their school-records are equivalent to a GPA of 3.00 on the application submission date.
  • 3.6. The study abroad results must be “PASS” in every subject and GPAX of secondary school must not be lower than 3.00.
  • 3.7. Applicants who are studying in high-school or international school in Thailand must have successfully completed at least 4 semesters of secondary school with a minimum GPA of 3.00
  1. Applicants must have one of the following English proficiency test results:
    • TOEFL – 80 (internet-based)
    • IELTS – 6.5
    • TU-GET – 550 (Thammasat University English Test)
    • SAT
  • Old SAT (Critical Reading) – 350
  • New SAT (Evidence-Based Reading and Writing) – 350

Portfolio Requirements

        1. Evidence showing participation in the study abroad programme or a prize at a national or international level.
        2. Evidence of high school completion or a student status confirmation letter
        3. Transcripts
          • Applicants from Thai schools must submit transcripts covering no less than 4 semesters (from M.4 – M.5).
          • Applicants from US-based schools must submit transcripts covering no less than 4 semesters (2 full academic years) from Grades 10 – 11.
          • Applicants from UK-based schools must submit transcripts covering no less than 6 semesters (3 full academic years) from Grades 10 – 12.
          • Applicants must complete / be completing M.6 or its equivalent from high school.

* The attached files must not be more than 4 files, each less than 2 MB in each file. Only PDF files are accepted.

** Applicants can submit the documents in person at Room 104, Faculty of Liberal Arts, Tha Prachan from October 10 – 20, 2017, in case they have more documents and cannot attach other files.

Applicant Qualifications

  1. Applicants must have successfully completed 4 semesters of secondary school with a minimum GPA of 2.50 (or equivalent results such as GCE, GCSE, IGCSE, IB or GED).
    1. GED
      • Old GED results must be at least 2,250 points, combining all 5 different subjects taken, and the score for each subject must be more than 410.
      • New GED results must be at least 580 points, combining all 4 different subjects taken, and the score for each subject must be more than 145.
    2. IGCSE / GCE or GCSE “O” level results for those who have tested in 2016 must not be lower than “C” in 5 different subjects.
      • GCE/GCSE/IGCSE results must not be lower than “C” in five different subjects.
      • GCE “AS” results must not be lower than “C” in three different subjects; or GCE “A” level results must not be lower than “C” in three different subjects. GCE “AS” can be combined with GCE “A” level results and must not be lower than “C” in three different subjects. “AS” and “A” level cannot be the same subjects. (Thai Language will not be accepted as one of the required subjects whether or “O” level, “AS” or “A” level.)
    3. IGCSE / GCE or GCSE “O” level results for those who have tested in 2017 must not be lower than “C” in 5 different subjects.
      • GCE “AS” results must not be lower than “C” in three different subjects; or GCE “A” level results must not be lower than “C” in three different subjects.
      • In addition the further following results must be submitted:
      • GCE “AS” level results must not be lower than “E” in five different subjects. GCE “A” level results must not be lower than “E” in three different subjects.
    4. IB exam results must not be lower than “4” in 5 different subjects.
    5. New Zealand results must be equivalent to an average of 2.50 according to the calculation of the NZQA.
  2. Applicants must have one of the following English proficiency test results:
    1. TU-GET (Thammasat University English Test) – 500
    2. IELTS (Academic) – 6
    3. TOEFL (iBT) – 61
    4. Old SAT (Critical Reading) – 350
    5. New SAT (Reading and Writing) – 350
